I've been planning on buying the new XBox as soon as I can buy FFXI for it. This is a welcome step in that direction. Although I reserve the right to change my mind if they're coming out with a souped up PS3 version as well.

I don't see the PS3 doing an uprade of FFXI when it finally comes out over a year or more from now. And the PS3 better not be just comprable like its current statistics show it will be when it does finally release otherwise the only buyers will be the PS diehards. Everyone else will be playing Xbox 360. I will be getting this magazine when it comes out and very eager to see it on the 360 cause I definately plan on purchasing this for the 360 when its released.

Looks to me like the only major change is High Definition capabilities. While that in itself would be rather nice I dont think it'd sway me to buy an Xbox 360 just for that reason. In any case it will be great for those who will own one. You'll have to let me know how it compares when it's available.
